Ahead of today’s House Administration Committee hearing, government watchdog Accountable.US released a new report exposing MAGA House Republicans’ key witnesses as conspiracy theorists and fringe extremists. From Scott Walter of the Capital Research Center to Will Flanders of the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty, these witnesses have a track record of racially insensitive comments, election denialism, and more.

The new Accountable.US report reveals the radical extremism of key witnesses at today’s hearing:

  • An extreme partisan with ties to the right-wing “dark money ATM” Donors Trust, Capital Research Center president Scott Walter’s fringe views don’t deserve a congressional platform. Walter has a long history of radical extremism, from his numerous racially charged comments to his time working for a top anti-LGBTQ group to his peddling serious election lies.
  • Mollie Hemingway, editor-in-chief of far-right The Federalist, has a long history of spreading dangerous disinformation. Hemingway has extensively peddled debunked election conspiracy theories — going so far as to write a book about so-called “fraud” in the 2020 election.
  • Will Flanders, research director of the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty, called racism in school discipline “imaginary,” discounted voter suppression caused by voter ID laws, and has amplified a dangerous conspiracy theory about the 2020 election results.
