WASHINGTON, D.C. – A new review by government watchdog Accountable.US found President-elect Donald Trump has so far nominated at least ten lobbyists to serve in key roles in his administration. The lobbyists turned prospective bureaucrats could serve alongside Trump’s nominations of 10 people to major positions who contributed to Fox News, as well as at least five billionaires and several other ultra-high-net-worth individuals Trump hand-picked to lead key agencies despite campaigning on promises to help working-class Americans.

“A Trump administration increasingly made up of corporate lobbyists, billionaires, and well-connected TV personalities means a rapidly decreasing focus on the needs of everyday working people and seniors. But these are exactly the kind of people Donald Trump needs at his side to try to sell another massive tax giveaway to billionaires and corporations that price-gouge and outsource jobs, paid for with steep cuts to priorities that level the playing field for everyday Americans. This is more of the same old Washington insider playbook Americans are tired of,” said Accountable.US Executive Director Tony Carrk.

Since Trump’s election victory in November 2024, he has nominated at least ten individuals to posts in his administration who have served as lobbyists, including

  •     Longtime lobbyist Susie Wiles was selected to serve as Trump’s Chief of Staff.
  •     Lobbyist Bill McGinley was selected by Trump to serve as Counsel to the Department Of Government Efficiency.
  •     Lobbyist and former Rep. Doug Collins was selected to serve as Secretary Of Veterans Affairs.
  •     Lobbyist and former Rep. Sean Duffy was selected to serve as Secretary Of Transportation.
  •     Lobbyist and former Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker was selected to serve as Ambassador to NATO.
  •     Lobbyist and former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi was selected to serve as Attorney General.
  •     Lobbyist Alex Wong was selected to serve as Deputy National Security Advisor.
  •     Lobbyist and former Rep. Pete Hoekstra was selected to serve as Ambassador To Canada.
  •     Lobbyist Jamieson Greer was selected to serve as U.S. Trade.
  •     Lobbyist James Braid was selected to serve as Director of the Office Of Legislative Affairs.
