ICYMI: Accountable.US Mobile Billboard Demands Accountability from Chief Justice Roberts for SCOTUS Ethics Issues
New revelations underscore urgent need for court reform
WASHINGTON, DC – Over the weekend, an Accountable.US mobile billboard demanded accountability from Supreme Court Chief Justice Roberts for his refusal to take action regarding the recent pattern of serious Supreme Court ethics issues. The billboard traveled through DC — even circling Roberts’ Chevy Chase country club — displaying messages reading “Chief Justice Roberts: The Face of a Court in Crisis,” and “Chief Justice Roberts: Clean Up Your Court,” as well as recent headlines highlighting the Justice’s inaction.
While the Supreme Court is on fire with scandals, Chief Justice Roberts refuses to take action regarding the serious ethics issues undermining the credibility and integrity of our nation’s highest court. His refusal to address the issues at hand is untenable — and just underscores the need for urgent reform to restore public trust in our Court.”
Accountable.US president Kyle Herrig.
During the mobile billboard campaign, new bombshell revelations surfaced revealing that Jane Roberts, wife of Chief Justice John Roberts, made $10.3 million in commissions from elite law firms. At least one firm argued a case before Chief Justice Roberts after paying his wife hundreds of thousands of dollars. The news was just the latest in a long pattern of troubling Supreme Court ethics issues which Chief Justice Roberts refuses to address.
