Accountable.US Statement on Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Nomination to Lead Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, in response to President-elect Donald Trump’s decision to nominate anti-vaccine advocate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), government watchdog Accountable.US released the following statement.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has spent years recklessly promoting unfounded, anti-scientific conspiracies about everything from vaccines to antidepressants. Not only does he lack any serious credentials, but his troubling grasp of facts pose a serious threat to the health of millions of Americans.”
Accountable.US’ Executive Director Tony Carrk.
RFK Jr.’s most extreme conspiracies include:
- Falsely linking vaccines to various medical conditions, including autism.
- Baselessly claiming there is a connection between gender dysphoria and chemical exposure.
- Falsely linked antidepressants to the increase in school shootings.
This week, Accountable.US launched the Trump Accountability War Room to scrutinize President-elect Donald Trump’s appointments, executive actions, and legislative agenda. The first Trump administration was littered with officials using their offices for self-enrichment, all while gutting protections for Americans and harming families. Now, with the help of Project 2025, we face even more threats to American rights and freedoms and another four years of abuses of power and conflicts of interest.
