Accountable.US launches Patients Over Pharma campaign to focus on “exposing the deep ties between the Trump Administration and the pharmaceutical industry, the revolving door between Big Pharma and the federal government, and how this corruption is hurting patients and preventing any meaningful progress toward reducing the cost of prescription drugs”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Accountable.US President Kyle Herrig announced the launch of “Patients Over Pharma,” a campaign to expose the pharmaceutical industry’s influence on Congress and the Trump administration and to educate the public about how this corruption is preventing meaningful action to reduce the price of prescription drugs. This campaign is kicking off following the House passage of H.R. 3, The Lower Drug Costs Now Act of 2019 and as Senate leadership and President Trump continue to stand with the pharmaceutical industry in preventing this bill from becoming law.

“The Patients Over Pharma campaign will focus on exposing the deep ties between the Trump Administration and the pharmaceutical industry, the revolving door between Big Pharma and the federal government, and how this corruption is hurting patients and preventing any meaningful progress toward reducing the cost of prescription drugs,” said Kyle Herrig, President of Accountable.US.

“This campaign is being launched following the passage of strong legislation in the House and as President Trump and Senate leaders are backtracking on the commitments they made to reduce the cost of prescription drugs – so exposing Big Pharma influence and corruption and calling on policymakers to keep their promises is going to be absolutely critical in the months ahead.”

The Patients Over Pharma campaign will communicate with and educate policymakers and members of the public, including through paid advertising, to make sure people have the facts and this issue gets the attention it deserves. The Patients Over Pharma campaign expands on the work of Restore Public Trust, a project of Accountable.US.
