Watchdog: Senate HELP & Finance Committees Must Vote No on RFK Jr. Confirmation Amid Felony Investigation

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Government watchdog Accountable.US today called on the members of the Senate HELP and Finance committees to reject the nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for HHS Secretary in light of reports that the Westchester County (New York) District Attorney is actively investigating whether Kennedy violated New York’s Election Law by registering for and voting in the November 5th, 2024 general election from a New York residence that courts had previously ruled he does not legally reside — both acts being potential felonies.
According to a letter from the Chair of the Westchester County Democratic Committee sent to HELP and Finance Committee Chairs and Ranking Members: “Last week (January 13, 2025), the District Attorney’s office contacted me and confirmed that they are investigating the situation. The New York Attorney General’s office had previously acknowledged receipt and referral to its Voting Rights division. Accountable.US, a nonpartisan watchdog organization, filed a separate complaint regarding the same matter with the New York State Board.”
“With Robert F. Kennedy Jr. under investigation for potentially committing felonious election fraud; the responsible decision for the Senators overseeing Kennedy’s nomination is to reject it. This incident adds to many questionable decisions and conspiracy-laden statements Kennedy has made that show his grave lack of judgment and the great risk involved in putting him in charge of our public health,” said Accountable.US Executive Director Tony Carrk.
The Senate Finance Committee will vote on whether to advance Kennedy for confirmation tomorrow, Feb. 4 at 10 a.m.
