Washington, D.C. — In response to reports that Congress has passed the bipartisan infrastructure bill and set a path forward on the Build Back Better reconciliation plan, government watchdog Accountable.US president Kyle Herrig released the following statement:
“Congress passed a much-needed infrastructure bill last night. Now it must complete the job and pass the Build Back Better plan for a fair, equitable, and sustainable economy that works for everyone, not just powerful businesses and the well-connected. To grow our economy and even the playing field after years of corporate imbalance, there’s simply no other option but for the wealthy and billion-dollar corporations to pay their fair share. Congress should stand up to the big corporate interests standing in the way to lower costs and cut taxes for American families.”
