Watchdog on Patel FBI Confirmation: Feckless Senators Made Nation Less Safe, More Vulnerable to Corrupting Foreign Influence

WASHINGTON, DC – In a pathetic display of political fealty to President Trump over our national security interests, all but two Republican senators voted to rubber-stamp the objectively flawed FBI Director nominee, Kashyap “Kash” Patel that even former Trump officials called dangerous and prone to breaking the law for President Trump, and despite numerous red flags about Patel’s character and allegiances.

“If and when Trump FBI Director Patel follows through on his threats to trample democratic norms and jail journalists and political critics, the Republican senators who allowed it will be every bit as responsible,” said Tony Carrk, Executive Director of Accountable.US. “If and when Patel undermines our national security interests in service to the foreign adversary-linked companies he got rich consulting for, senators who voted yes will have no one to blame but themselves.
