In today’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Heritage Foundation senior legal fellow and author of Project 2025’s playbook for the Federal Election Commission, Hans von Spakovsky refused to confront reality, dodging questions about the validity of the 2020 presidential election.

In an exchange with Senator Peter Welch (D-VT), when asked whether he believed the 2020 presidential election was rigged during the hearing, von Spakovsky said the “election’s over with.” After he was pressed again to answer whether the 2020 election was rigged, von Spakovsky refused to give a clear answer. Then, when asked whether he believed it was “a proper decision by the court to throw” out challenges to the 2020 presidential election results, von Spakovsky again dodged, saying he hadn’t reviewed every case.
