ICYMI: Congressman Casar, Advocacy Groups Demand Corporations Pay Their Fair Share

WASHINGTON, DC — As members of Congress and the Trump administration publicly push for more tax giveaways to billionaires and wealthy corporations all at the expense of healthcare and SNAP benefits, Accountable.US and Americans for Tax Fairness challenged the idea that corporate tax cuts benefit anyone but the wealthy in a briefing yesterday. 

The call—featuring Congressman Greg Casar (D-TX), new chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, and Bharat Ramamurti, Advisor for Accountable.US and Former Deputy Director of the National Economic Council—underscored how top firms like Apple, JP Morgan Chase, and Microsoft hoard the majority of profits and exploit more than half of the tax code’s loopholes, benefits, and special breaks, leaving behind a massive burden on working families.
