Leo scores victories in final cases of SCOTUS term

WASHINGTON, DC – Today’s disastrous opinions in the final cases of the Supreme Court term delivered new wins for conservative kingpin Leonard Leo and his radical, unpopular agenda.

In Biden v. Nebraska, the Court sided with extremist Attorneys General tied to Leonard Leo. In a shocking roll back of LGBTQ rights, the Court ruled to allow discrimination against LGBTQ couples in 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis, which lawyers and groups closely connected to Leo pushed.

Today’s opinions by an extremist Court are just the latest in Leonard Leo’s decades-long agenda to erode democracy and roll back Americans’ rights,” said Accountable.US senior advisor Kyle Herrig. “It’s no surprise that the extremist lawyers and groups involved in these devastating decisions have close ties to Leo’s influence network. That’s how Leo works. He uses his dark network to force his radical, unpopular agenda on Americans at every level, and he gets rich while doing it.”

A recent Accountable.US report revealed conservative judicial activist Leonard Leo’s personal and financial ties to major Supreme Court decisions. 

Leonard Leo has ties to the extremist Attorneys General who challenged student debt forgiveness in Biden v. Nebraska. In this case, 17 Republican Attorneys General filed an amicus brief siding with Nebraska against the Biden Administration. All are members of the Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA), which has received over $13 million from Leo’s Concord Fund since 2016.

In 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis, Leo-connected lawyers and groups worked to enable discrimination against LGBTQ couples. Leo is politically and financially connected to Concerned Women for America, the Claremont Institute, the Becket Fund, and the Ethics and Public Policy Center — all of which filed amicus briefs supporting 303 Creative‘s challenge to Colorado’s anti-discrimination law. The Alliance Defending Freedom, a key anti-LGBTQ hate group behind 303 Creative, has been bankrolled by the Leo-funded Donors Trust.
