Inclusivity at Accountable.US
As a watchdog organization, we acknowledge the systemic oppression embedded in American society’s fabric, which can manifest as microaggressions, prejudice, discrimination, and/or violence against racial, gender, class, sexual, and other identities on both an interpersonal and political level. Our work seeks to redress these endemic problems specifically through the disparate effects of governmental mismanagement and corruption on marginalized communities. To that end, we strive to incorporate diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ) into all aspects of our work to help us achieve our organizational mission, expand our reach, and deepen our impact.
By actively threading DEIJ into every level of engagement in our organization, both internally and externally, we seek to contribute to much-needed progress in our country. We will achieve this by:
- Incorporating a lens of intersectionality into our anti-corruption research and communications work to highlight inequities and injustices and spur change that will create a more equitable and just society;
- Continuously developing and fostering an internal organizational culture that is diverse, equitable, just, and inclusive; and
- Attracting, growing, and retaining a diverse and talented staff through processes, procedures, and a learning culture that will support their wellbeing, engagement, and creativity.
