One month after the Supreme Court’s ruling that rebuffed an attempt by anti-abortion groups to restrict the abortion pill mifepristone while leaving the door open for potential future challenges, a new poll from Accountable.US and the Center for American Progress released this week reveals strong public opposition to Project 2025’s radical anti-abortion agenda. Poll results found that an overwhelming 83% of Americans oppose national bans on abortion and in vitro fertilization (IVF) – key policy components of Project 2025’s anti-reproductive rights policies.

Extreme conservatives want to have more control over our lives and take away our freedoms. Nowhere is this more evident than in Project 2025’s anti-abortion, anti-IVF agenda. Americans clearly reject these policies. It’s no surprise that the more Americans learn about Project 2025's far-right manifesto, the more they oppose its plans."

Accountable.US president Caroline Ciccone

Project 2025’s anti-abortion agenda includes sweeping measures that would drastically curtail reproductive rights across the nation. The plan would make it easier to ban abortion and limit IVF, encourages severe restrictions on abortion access, and increases surveillance of abortion practices – the latter of which 82% of Americans oppose. The conservative blueprint also seeks to rescind the FDA’s approval of abortion pills – 68% of Americans reject its criminalization.

Furthermore, Project 2025 proposes allowing presidents to replace civil servants with political loyalists, raising concerns about the politicization of federal health agencies that oversee reproductive care. This move, opposed by 79% of Americans, could potentially compromise the objectivity and scientific integrity of these agencies, further threatening access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare.
