WASHINGTON, DC — Today, in response to President-elect Donald Trump’s decision to nominate Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz (FL-1), government watchdog Accountable.US released the following statement.

The role of the U.S. Attorney General requires a serious individual who will uphold the rule of law for all Americans. Matt Gaetz is not a serious choice. All this nomination demonstrates is that the President-elect prioritizes loyalty to himself above all else, not what is good for the nation.”
