WASHINGTON, DC — Over the coming weeks, American families will face rising prices on everyday needs due to President Trump’s tariff campaign against Canada and China. Despite growing concerns among working American families, President Trump’s billionaire allies remain flippant about the “pain” increased prices on everything from groceries to cellphones could cause most Americans.

Trump is playing games with the middle class’s wallets and his billionaire friends demand that we just accept exorbitant price hikes on our everyday needs. Americans shouldn’t be forced to choose between feeding their families and filling the gas tank just because Trump wants to play tough, and certainly not to pay for tax giveaways for billionaires like Elon Musk and Jamie Dimon."

Yesterday, President Trump admitted that American families could experience “some pain” under his tariff plan, echoing a choir of billionaires and donors who have shrugged off concerns that increased prices could harm American families. The President affirmed his position, referring to tariffs and their cost as a “game.”

JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon and Elon Musk told Americans to “get over” and endure “hardship,” respectively, in the name of President Trump’s agenda. They failed to mention that billionaires and the wealthiest Americans are unlikely to feel the burden of tariffs and President Trump’s economic plans as strongly as working families.
