Trump Administration Day 1: Billionaires and Corporations Donate Millions

WASHINGTON, DC — Even before his inauguration today, America’s biggest companies and wealthiest donors were clamoring to deepen their relationship with President Donald Trump. According to a new analysis from government watchdog Accountable.US, a dozen companies—including familiar names like Meta, Pfizer, and JP Morgan—have lobbied the new administration, celebrated the election results, or committed millions to the Trump inaugural fund in an effort to gain early favor.
From Bank of America to Facebook, America’s biggest corporations are spending millions to gain favor with the Trump administration. It’s a desperate, transparent attempt to sway the tax code and influence the budget even further in their own favor, leaving millions of American families in their dust."

The report highlights comments from Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan who congratulated President Trump on his victory at the same time Bank of America announced it would give an undisclosed amount to President Trump’s inaugural fund. Citigroup CEO Jane Fraser claimed Trump’s agenda will be largely “pro-growth,” with the company also donating an undisclosed amount to the fund.
Similarly, top tech companies Meta, Microsoft, and OpenAI donated a million each to the fund. Apple CEO Tim Cook even went as far as to meet with President Trump to bring attention to “common enemies,” with Cook calling Trump in October 2024 after Apple was hit with a combined $17 billion in fines by the European Union.
