SHOT: Trump and his administration promised to “protect” Social Security as recently as last week — all the while tasking Elon Musk (who believes Social Security to be a “Ponzi Scheme”) to gut the Social Security Administration, dwindling the program’s staffing to a 50-year low, risking the income of 73 million people and threatening to shove 22 million adults and children into poverty.
