A day after Donald Trump single handedly imposed higher costs on American families, Senate Republicans are following suit by voting to kick millions of Americans off of their health insurance, deprive children of school lunches, and drive up the cost of housing and groceries – all to hand a giant payday to their billionaire donors and giant corporations. Senate Democrats are expected to use their floor time throughout the day and night to offer amendments and remind the American people that while President Trump and Republican leaders in Congress have claimed there will be no cuts to Medicaid, lawmakers across party lines and the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office agree: drastic cuts are inevitable and necessary to pay for Trump’s tax cuts for the rich.
On the heels of Trump’s cost-raising tariffs, the Senate budget resolution is a continuation of Trump, Musk’s DOGE, and congressional Republicans’ agenda, which threatens Social Security, consumer protection, education, and veterans’ healthcare and benefits in an effort to enrich themselves and their billionaire donors.
