Drug companies increased prices on 42 drugs this month, 900 so far in 2020…with more expected to come

Washington, DC – Today, Patients Over Pharma responded to the new report from GoodRX that shows that 42 drugs have increased in cost by an average of 3.5% this July, surpassing last year’s price increases and with more expected.

“President Trump has made it clear by now that he has no intention of keeping his promises to reduce prescription drug prices so it’s no surprise that drug companies feel confident shamelessly raising prices during a global pandemic and economic crisis,” said Eli Zupnick, spokesman for Patients Over Pharma. “After years of broken promises from President Trump and his Senate allies, patients across the country are sick and tired of drug companies and their lobbyists rigging the system in DC to make sure nothing gets in the way of their increasing profits.”

Earlier this year, Patients Over Pharma released an updated and expanded version of their BigPharmasBestFriends.org website, which reveals the latest on Trump Administration officials who made millions of dollars from the pharmaceutical industry, the number of pharmaceutical companies and lobbying groups represented in the Trump administration, the revolving door between the Trump Administration and the pharmaceutical industry, and more.
