While millions stand to lose access to education and meal assistance, a staggering 70% of congressional Republicans could financially benefit from their own tax plan.

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, government watchdog Accountable.US released new data via its comprehensive database, Cash in Congress, showing the district-by-district impact of Republican-backed cuts to Head Start and Meals on Wheels. While close to 800,000 children and 10 million seniors stand to lose access to Head Start and Meals on Wheels, respectively, a staggering 70% of congressional Republicans could financially benefit from their own tax plan.

This week, Republicans in the Energy and Commerce, Ways and Means, and Agriculture committees are expected to push through hundreds of billions in funding cuts for food assistance programs like SNAP and Meals on Wheels, healthcare, and other programs millions rely on in order to pay for tax cuts for themselves, billionaire donors, and corporations.
