WASHINGTON, DC — Millions of dollars in Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits are on the line if House Republicans push forward with their Trump-endorsed budget plan. Losing the credits will increase healthcare costs for millions of Americans and skyrocket the number of people without insurance coverage.

Earlier this month, the Kaiser Family Foundation released an interactive map outlining some of the consequences of the House Republican plan to let the premium tax credits expire. Most notably, every member of House Republican leadership would see ACA enrollee premiums double in their districts with the expiration of the premium tax credits

Per KFF:

“If the enhanced subsidies expire, a 60-year-old couple making $82,000 (401% of poverty) would see their premium payment for the benchmark silver plan, on average, at least double in the vast majority of congressional districts. The benchmark silver premium for a 60-year-old couple at this income would triple or more, on average, in 328 congressional districts.”
