House Republicans Vote to Cut Medicaid, Food Assistance For Tens of Millions, All to Cut Taxes for the Richest Americans

House Republicans’ Reconciliation Bill Guts Americans’ Healthcare and Increases Everyday Costs
WASHINGTON, DC — Early this morning, House Republicans passed their unpopular, Trump-endorsed tax cuts that benefit up to 70% of the Republican caucus, large corporations, and the ultra-wealthy, paid for in cuts to the programs tens of millions of Americans rely on.
This bill represents the largest cuts to Medicaid and SNAP in history, including 14 million Americans losing health coverage, 3 million households without food assistance, and burdening millions with higher education and energy costs. All while adding over $4 trillion to the deficit.
This bill will make life harder for everyday Americans. Healthcare will be ripped away or increase in cost; grocery costs will go up; and the cost of education and energy will soar. Taking their cues from special interests and donors, Congressional Republicans passed a bill that betrays the core promise they made to the American people: make their lives better.”

According to Accountable.US’ CashinCongress.org tool, not only will this bill help the ultra-rich, 70% of the Republican caucus could financially benefit from the Trump tax scam, while their constituents face devastating blows to programs like Medicaid and SNAP.
