COURT WATCH: New Report from Accountable.US on The Extremist Legal Network Guiding Trump’s Court Capture Campaign

New report is the first in series of Accountable.US’s new investigative newsletter, Court Watch
Today, Accountable.US is launching a new series of investigations into the dark money infrastructure and MAGA extremists driving President Trump’s efforts to influence and take over our federal judiciary. This series will spotlight the power players behind the scenes – the operatives, funders, and organizations working to remake the judiciary in service of a corrupt, authoritarian MAGA agenda.
Our first deep dive focuses on the Article III Project (A3P), a little-known but highly influential group founded by longtime GOP operative Mike Davis. A3P has been a driving force in Trump’s court-packing and influence machine – coordinating judicial nominations, attacking judges trying to hold Trump accountable, and pushing legislation to gut legal oversight and make it even easier for Trump to violate the law. Funded in its early days by Leonard Leo’s Concord Fund, A3P has served as both an attack dog and organizational consigliere for Trump’s legal movement. The report also highlights the role of Mike Davis himself, who has called for denaturalization, flouted democratic principles, and openly endorsed authoritarian tactics.
This new research series builds on our broader work exposing Trump’s judicial takeover, including our ongoing Judicial Nominations Watch project, which continues to track and expose the extremist records of Trump’s nominees.
