Congressional Democrats Announce Bill to Block Medicaid Cuts in Trump Tax Scam

If passed, the bill will protect coverage for 15 million Americans.

Per the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office, Medicaid cuts included in the Big, Beautiful Betrayal will leave 10 million Americans uninsured by 2034. On top of that, the expiration of ACA tax credits will cause program premiums to spike by 75% on average.
A new analysis from Accountable.US revealed yesterday that 16 congressional Republican central to passing the Big, Beautiful Betrayal accepted a staggering $2.16 million in campaign contributions from Big Oil, Big Pharma, tech, Wall Street, and other corporate interests in the days and weeks leading up to the vote and as many of these elected officials quietly changed their position on the bill. Per the report, industry and conservative PACs poured millions into congressional Republicans’ campaign accounts, and in return they received tax breaks and reduced oversight, all at the expense of deep cuts to programs like Medicaid that millions of Americans rely on.
