Washington, D.C. — Today on The Lead with Jake Tapper, Accountable.US President Kyle Herrig lambasted Big Oil for raking in massive profits while everyday Americans struggle to fill their gas tanks and heat their homes. As new Accountable.US research revealed, 24 of the top oil and gas corporations made nearly $127.4 billion in profits in 2021. 

“Americans are paying more at the pump, and executives are getting richer by the day,” said Kyle Herrig, president of Accountable.US.

Accountable.US has also been calling on the American Petroleum Institute (API) to stop using the crisis in Ukraine to baselessly attack the Biden administration’s energy policies as a means for advancing Big Oil’s agenda to line the pockets of wealthy oil and gas company executives.
